The Greatest Gift Ever

Previously, I used to wonder, "What can be the greatest gift from God to me? Is it Santa Claus? Is it a huge Christmas plum cake? Is it the gift box of chocolates found in my stockings? Or is it some other thing?"

Years rolled away in this way. I grew up day by day. Now, I have learnt how to understand the others.

Sometimes, it makes me wonder nowadays how fortunate I have been for everything, especially for this life. Indeed, my life is a great gift from God. Still, what about them who shiver in terrible cold because of not having sufficient protection?

They, too, deserve a happy Christmas down the ages. Like the other people, I used to ignore them as well. Yes, there was such a time actually.

A few days ago, my mum said to me, "God has given us a great gift: our life. Well, do you know which one is a greater gift?" I shook my head with curiosity. Then, she told me, "It's the sense that you have grown within you to treat mankind in the same way that you treat yourself."

And, today, I can realise the fact that the greatest gift from God to me is my conscience that has been nurtured by my parents with infinite love and care.

Hence, I thank God every moment because He has given me everything: peace, strength, health, safety, security, success, joy and so on and so forth. You know what? I pray to God to give me one more gift : a generous, gorgeous and grateful heart.

I dream to know and to explore the world from a large perspective. Apart from that, I yearn to speak the inevitable truth candidly enough, in order to convey it to the people. Simultaneously, I aspire to know the mass with much proximity and circulate their views also while expressing my own. Of course, I do intend to write creatively and freely enough so that I can hold my head high as an honest and as an established journalist. I trust wholeheartedly that it is the significant role of a journalist to interact with all human beings, irrespective of their social status and so on.
