An Experience Suffused with Novelty

Last time, it was a magnificent journey from Howrah to Vellore. Even though, the destination usually seems to be long associated with medical treatment fundamentally, it was indeed an opportunity for a lifetime, not only to imbibe the entire essence of the travel by heart but also to explore how lenient and gentle the natural beauties are.
At about half past eleven at night, the Pondicherry
Express blew its whistle and thus we commenced. Mamma, Daddy, Uncle Prabir—everybody
was full of great excitement and so was I. Meeting so many passengers inside
the train was truly a perfect delight for many of us. Each person wants to
gossip with others for spending the time.
Daddy said, "Let's enjoy our dinner without
further delay. So, what are we waiting for?"
The jerking feeling along with the cool gust of the
November wind and the wholesome foods, like two boiled eggs with a pinch of
salt for each and rice, all turned the feelings divine.
Uncle Manu, Auntie Ranu and others gave additional
flavour to the travel. The receding houses, cattle and trees were a novelty to
all and sundry, including to those who were voracious readers.
While sleeping with the heads on the air-pillows, it
felt a bit uncomfortable indeed. Still, it was an impeccable splendour.
The next morning, the train crossed some of the
sacred rivers, like Mahanadi and Godabari. The unending span and water beckons
all of us even now.
Auntie Ranu said, "Look at the dazzling water; it
is so rich in life."
Daddy replied, "My daughter is genuinely a lover
of nature. Look at her; she is staring at the beauty."
When the vendors gave their trading cries, she
purchased a packet full of delicious noodles for me.
The homemade dishes are always tastier and healthier
to take, but at that time, the noodles tasted really mouth-watering, probably
because of the utmost hunger.
Uncle Vikram gifted me a key-ring, which I am always
very fond of even now.
Truly unforgettable are those colourful days of the
long journey. Yes, they are priceless.
After getting down at the Katpadi Junction with much
jostles and irritation, it was the time to part from the loving faces, with a
mingling of both joy and sorrow.
